Dr. Allan Behm is proud to offer over 50 years of experience in Dermatology. 

Dr. Novida Pather

From a tender age, Dr. Pather was always interested in medicine & family practice. All through growing up on the east coast of South Africa, she aimed to involve herself in assisting at various voluntary organizations.At medical school, the University of Witwatersrand Johannesburg (1999-2005), she became interested in surgery & emergency care. It was during her service years that she explored different sub specialties such as paediatric surgery, general surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, urology, vascular surgery and including emergency medicine.

However, it was family medicine that continued to be a focal and calling interest. In 2009 she enrolled in the Masters in Family Medicine degree at the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, completing in 2013. Her research dissertation entitled ‘The experience of an HIV positive individual living in an impoverished setting’. It was also during this year that she completed her Diploma in Anesthesia (2013).

At the end of this time, she and her family of three made their way to northern Alberta where she continued in family practice, rural emergency medicine, care of elderly at long term facilities, prenatal care and hospitalist care of patients. She loves the involvement in the family unit, with up to five generations at any one time. Dr. Pather together with her young family of now four, chose to relocate to southern Alberta, Okotoks in 2020.

She continues surgical skills in practice as much as she can, and runs a Lumps & Bumps clinic at Papillon Okotoks.

By nature of the encouraging environment and strong mentors she finds herself surrounded by, she has trained in Functional Medicine (further expected) and is now a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine.

She continues to seek to assist the individual patient find their better and healthier self.

Dr. Julie Thomson

Dr. Julie Thomson is a Canadian-born family physician who has been practicing medicine for over 15 years. She has a special interest in aesthetic medicine and dermatology.  Dr. Thomson enjoys working alongside her dermatological colleagues and treating primary care dermatological concerns like acne, rosacea, eczema, hair loss, and skin cancer screening.

Dr. Thomson has completed a postgraduate dermoscopy course at the University of Cardiff in Wales to enhance her skill at early skin cancer detection. She is also experienced in the surgical removal of dermatological lesions. She completed Procedural Skills in Dermatology (Vancouver) and received tutelage in plastic surgery techniques and aesthetic injectables from Dr. Jonathan Lee. Dr. Thomson is an Advanced Aesthetic Injector and has worked with cosmetic injectables for over 9 years; she is known for her gentle touch, subtle beautification, and genuine warmth. Dr. Thomson believes in the combination of science and aesthetics to allow women to look natural and feel their best. She advocates a holistic approach to skin health and wellness.  Dr. Thomson is a mother of two and loves to spend time with her family at home baking, playing games, or hiking in  our beautiful backyard, the Rocky Mountains.
